Holocaust Center

About

The mission of the Wagner College Holocaust Center is awaken future generations to the ramifications of prejudice, anti-Semitism and racism as well as the dynamism of Jewish culture. We aim to foster mutual respect, peace and positive action. We empower youth and community to cross boundaries of race, ethnicity, gender and class in considering genocides past and present, using the disciplines of the arts, history, economics, science and politics, among others. We have reached over 3000 youth on Staten Island and seek to reach over 5000 more in the next two years. Each semester six Wagner College student interns help to organize events, plays and films, and travel with survivors of the Holocaust and Rwandan genocide to local schools to foster dialogue on these issues.
