Hours per week: 10-20, 2 to 3 days a week

Description of the organization: Sammy's House is a nonprofit organization in Austin, Texas with a vision to bridge the gaps in services for children and youth who are medically fragile and/or developmentally delayed. Our mission is to provide high-quality education and care for children and youth with special needs, offer education and resources for families and work to create a community of tolerance and inclusion.

Position Summary: The position of the Development Director Intern will last 6 weeks, with the potential to be renewed dependent on performance. The internship position will provide you with substantial experience in nonprofit development and management, grant writing, events planning, researching donor prospects, solicitation stratigizing and gaining valuable work experience.

Qualifications: We are seeking a motivated and responsible college student or young professional who is looking to gain experience working with a nonprofit. Prior interning experience is not a requirement, but we do require you to have a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. A candidate should have an interest in Sammy's House mission. A potential intern should be comfortable working independently but,also working with a team and supervisors.
